Madame Tussauds looking for next tech wizard to be preserved in wax, after Jobs and Zuckerberg
Madame Tussauds, the museum famous for its life-like wax statues of famous personalities, is looking for the next tech wizard to be immortalised in wax at its San Francisco branch. In order to make this a democratic process, Madame Tussauds is asking the public to vote for the next tech whiz.
The tech personalities who are in the running include: Elon Musk, CEO, SpaceX; Sheryl Sandberg, COO, Facebook; Marc Benioff, CEO, Salesforce.com; Jane Metcalfe, Co-founder, Wired Ventures and Ed Catmull, President, Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Animation Studios.
According to a report in Re/code, the nomination criteria is as follows: “Your nominee should have a Bay Area connection (company based in the Bay Area, born here, lives here, went to school in the Bay, etc.). The nominee should already be recognized as a thought leader, innovator and/or influencer to their industry”
The museum already has life-size wax statues of Apple founder Steve Jobs and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. According to the museum, Zuckerberg did not sit through the creation process of his wax statue. Steve Jobs made it to the international Madame Tussauds list after his death in 2012.
The winner with the highest number of votes will be announced of May 26.
