As
of Tuesday, Snapchat users are able to trade clips with their friends,
using the app’s updated Discover feature. To share music, news articles
or video clips, simply tap and hold the desired Discover content,
TechCrunch reports.
Discover
was added to the popular photo-sharing app in January, as a way to
enable users to access media such as CNN, Vice and Warner Music.
Snapchat also announced yesterday a new feature called Snapcodes that
enables users to add friends more easily.
To
add a friend from now on, point your camera at a vector file of a
Snapcode, an individualized QR code for a fellow user, and tap on your
screen. The vectors can be used on websites or printed.
An
earlier report states that Snapchat, the social network for users who
like the security of disappearing messages, released its first
transparency report showing hundreds of requests from US and foreign law
enforcement agencies. Between November 1 and February 28, Snapchat said
it received 375 requests from US law enforcement officials, and handed
over at least some user data in 92 percent of those cases.
Outside
the US, Snapchat received 28 requests and produced data in six of those
cases. The requests came from Britain, Belgium, France, Canada,
Ireland, Hungary and Norway.
