Alcatel
has been aggressively promoting its brand in India, with a series of
low to high-end Android smartphones. The Chinese handset maker has now
launched three new smartphones under its Idol range and a Galaxy
Note-like phablet, One Touch Hero today.
Alcatel’s
Idol series smartphones Idol X, Idol S and Idol mini come with
features such as ‘pic to the left’, that allows users to swipe and flip
through the photo gallery to share them with friends. The Idol S comes
with 4G connectivity, while the Idol X has a faster quad- core
processor. The Idol mini is an entry level smartphone with a smaller
display and low-power processor. The smartphones have screen sizes
ranging from 4.3 to 5 inches and thin 2.4mm bezels. All phones are
available in storage options of 4GB, 8GB and 16GB. The Idol range starts
at Rs 10,000.
The
Alcatel One Touch Hero, is a higher-end smartphone sporting a massive
6-inch HD display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. Similar to the
likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Micromax Canvas Doodle 3, the
Alcatel Hero comes with a stylus for taking notes. The phone also comes
with a dual-screen feature to help you work on two apps simultaneously.
It has a 13 MP rear camera and 2 MP front camera for video calls and
self shots. There’s 16GB of built-in storage that’s expandable up to 32
GB and 2GB of RAM. The phone is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor
and packs a 3400 mAh battery. The One touch Hero is priced at Rs
30,000.
The
One Touch Hero and the phones in the Idol series run the older Android
4.2 Jelly Bean OS and come in four different colours. The smartphones
are available across physical and online retail stores. Alcatel had
previously launched its Alcatel Idol X+ exclusively with Flipkart at Rs
16,999.
