Madame
Tussauds, the museum famous for its life-like wax statues of famous
personalities, is looking for the next tech wizard to be immortalised in
wax at its San Francisco branch. In order to make this a democratic
process, Madame Tussauds is asking the public to vote for the next tech
whiz.
The
tech personalities who are in the running include: Elon Musk, CEO,
SpaceX; Sheryl Sandberg, COO, Facebook; Marc Benioff, CEO,
Salesforce.com; Jane Metcalfe, Co-founder, Wired Ventures and Ed
Catmull, President, Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Animation
Studios.
According
to a report in Re/code, the nomination criteria is as follows: “Your
nominee should have a Bay Area connection (company based in the Bay
Area, born here, lives here, went to school in the Bay, etc.). The
nominee should already be recognized as a thought leader, innovator
and/or influencer to their industry”
The
museum already has life-size wax statues of Apple founder Steve Jobs
and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. According to the museum,
Zuckerberg did not sit through the creation process of his wax statue.
Steve Jobs made it to the international Madame Tussauds list after his
death in 2012.
The winner with the highest number of votes will be announced of May 26.
