Sony
continues to bring its latest iteration of Android, 5.0 Lollipop, to
its Z series. The company has already started rolling out Lollipop
update for the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact, and plans to release it
for the Xperia Z2 and Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet next week.
Interestingly,
the new update isn’t limited to the Z series, and Sony has confirmed in
a blogpost to release it for the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3.
In
September, Sony had launched its flagship, the Xperia Z3, and its
younger sibling Z3 Compact in India for Rs 51,990 and Rs 44,990,
respectively. Both are water-resistant and come with similar
capabilities, but the Z3 has a 5.2-inch display, while the Z3 Compact
has a smaller 4.6-inch display.
The
T2 Ultra comes with a larger 6-inch 720p Triluminos display. It has a
sleek profile of 7.6mm, despite the huge display. On the camera front,
one will find a 13MP shooter on the back. Its 8GB onboard storage can be
expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot. Some other specs include
1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor and a 3,000mAh battery.
The
Xperia C3 was announced in July last year, and was clearly targeted at
those who can’t have enough selfies in their lives. Priced at Rs 23,990,
it was made available in September in India.
It
features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixel) Triluminos display and powered
by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, coupled with Adreno 305
GPU and 1GB of RAM.There’s a 5-megapixel unit, with a 25mm wide-angle
lens that Sony claims delivers an 80-degree field of view. And to top it
all, there’s a soft LED flash as well. The back camera also sports a
similar flash with an 8-megapixel sensor.
