Motorola
and Flipkart have quietly given the uber-affordable Moto E a price cut
of Rs 1,000. On Flipkart, it is now available to buy for Rs 5,999.
Recently,
Motorola had also announced Android 5.0 Lollipop soak test for the Moto
E in India. Motorola has already released Android 5.0 Lollipop update
for both generations of Moto G and Moto X in India, and now plans to
extend the latest Android iteration to its uber-cheap Moto E, if the
soak tests proceed without any issues.
In
the budget segment, Moto E, has been doing very well, and compelled its
rivals to come up with devices in the sub-7k price range. In fact, in
the past 10 months, the company has disclosed to have sold 24,00,000
units of Moto E and Moto G, and 6,00,000 units of Moto X.
The Moto E was designed to be beginner’s smartphone and for that, it did its job brilliantly.
