Extending
its Iris X1 series, Lava has announced two new smartphones in the
Indian market. The all new 5-inch Iris X1 Grand and 4-inch Iris X1 mini
are priced affordably at Rs 7,326 and Rs 4,348, respectively.
The
Lava Iris X1 Grand sports a 5-inch IPS display with FWVGA 854 x 480
resolution. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and comes powered by a 1.3GHz
quad core MTK6582M processor, coupled with 1GB RAM. The device also
bundles an Intelligent Flip cover that lets users access the phone’s
functions without the need of switching to the main screen. It also
supports Smart Wake-up and Gesture controls for easy access from
lockscreen.
The
Iris X1 Grand also comes with an 8MP AF rear camera, dual LED flash,
auto focus, BSI II sensor, 2MP front-facing camera for video calling,
8GB onboard storage and microSD card support for up to 32GB. The
connectivity options include USB v2.0, Bluetooth v4.0 and Wi-Fi (802.11
b/g/n).
The
X1 Mini comes with a smaller 4-inch IPS display. It is powered by a
1.2GHz quad-core chipset and meager 512MB RAM. This means it may not be
able to handle many apps at the same time. On the camera front, one can
expect a 5MP rear snapper and a VGA front-facing camera. The device
also comes with 4GB onboard storage that is expandable up to 32GB via
microSD card slot. A 1750mAh battery promising to last up to one day on
normal usage completes the package.
Commenting
on the launch of both the devices Navin Chawla, Vice President &
Head Product, Lava International Ltd., said “We are overwhelmed with the
great response that we have received for our Lava Iris X1 over the past
6 months. In an endeavour to continue to give our users the same
experience with upgraded features and form factor we have decided to add
two new members to the Iris X1 family. Iris X1 Grand & Iris X1 mini
have been launched considering high consumer demand for this design in
4-inch and 5-inch screen sizes. With additional features like
Intelligent flip cover, Smart Wakeup, Gestures and smart covers these
smartphones will surely deliver a delightful user experience.”
The
Iris X1 Grand as well as X1 mini will be available for sale across all
national retail stores, multi-brand outlets and major e-commerce portals
in India starting first week of February.
